Mrs with a .?

I am often asked what the appropriate correct to abbreviate Mrs., and if the period is necessary or not. Generally in the USA, we write Mrs. with a period, whereas in the UK they tend to omit it. Mrs as well as Mrs. are considered appropriate for writing out your married name. And for hanger sake, its up to you!
